The Raptor
A closer look...

Patented Design
The Raptor
The Raptor blends the grace of a mono hull kayak with
the stability of a catamaran. Our design patented (pending)
hull combines stability and speed with a comfortable
and spacious cockpit. Thermo-formed interior sections create
the look and feel of a wrap around console. An acrylic/
ABS molded floor section was designed to support the weight
of stand up paddlers. The open 30” wide cargo well is positioned
to allow easy reach of all items from the cockpit seat.
The Raptor was designed for Pacific Ocean conditions and
can handle any conditions you would normally put a fishing
kayak into.
We searched for the best materials available in the construction of our Santa Cruz Kayaks. Sturdy 1.25” webbing straps, in lieu of bungee cords for fastening your gear in the boat. Even the rudder control cables are fabricated from the finest SS hardware we could find. Quality costs a little more, but it endures over time.
4Design provides speed and
stability. Stable enough to use as a stand-up paddle boat!
4Spacious cockpit area with
a molded seat/ interior floor system that’s foam
filled for added floatation and to help reduce noise
transmission.
4Paddle keepers, flush-mounted
rod holders, as well as plenty of storage for all your gear.
4Low profile and twin- keels
prevent crosswinds from pushing you off-course.
4The high-coaming and optional
lap skirt helps to keep you warm and dry.
4Options for rudder and foot controlled
steering.
4Weighs in at 62 lbs. and can be
easily entered and launched by one person.
4Now with a Lifetime warranty on
hull to original purchaser.
You owe it to yourself to test paddle one...

Why a Sit-Inside kayak?
"The most stable kayak I have ever been in" - Bob Bramblet, Kayak Fishing Classics Series Champion 2011.
Most kayak fishermen who use a Sit On Top design do so
simply because it's what they learned to fish in. The average
Sit Inside kayak typically has a small cockpit making it
difficult to enter and exit the boat and offers little
room for gear. Also, many of the Sit Inside kayaks are
narrow and less stable than the Sit On Top designs. That
has all changed!
Dave Lamoureux, who holds the world record for a 156 lb
Bluefin Tuna, prefers a sit-inside kayak.
"I fish from a sit-inside kayak. They're a better choice... Your butt lies below the waterline in a sit-in, and that lowers your center of gravity. Fishing for Bluefin, you're on the water a long time, so in the cockpit, the deck of a sit-in, provides that much more protection from the cold and the waves and wind. It gives you an out of the way place to store all the tuna gear."
- Dave Lamoureux, Kayak Angler Magazine
The benefits of fishing from the Raptor from Santa Cruz Kayaks
4The Raptor isn't your ordinary Sit inside kayak. It's nearly impossible to tip over. Many have tried, we've yet to hear of someone that has been able to flip this kayak while sitting in the seat.
4There's no "balancing act" to perform while reaching for items stored in the cargo well. And, with the large cockpit opening, getting in or out is as easy as getting into a much larger boat.
4You and your gear remain warm, dry, and secure – not exposed to the spray that splashes over the bow as you paddle into the wind.
4Effortless paddling, the tunnel hull design glides over the water like a paddleboard, not shoving its way through it like most displacement hulls. Yet it's still small and light enough to easily load on top of your vehicle.
4The foot-controlled retractable
rudder is neatly positioned between the pontoons where
it is well protected from getting damaged.

like the Raptor launch video or the ones showing a diver
enter and exit from the water to see what we mean – this
kayak is like nothing else you’ve ever paddled.
